Amate Paper
It is made with bark of jonote tree, and these papers are a footprint of the otomí culture prehispanic legacy, in the northern sierra of Puebla, Mexico. The bark is cooked in water and lime resulting in crushable fibers that become a fibrous sheet of colors ranging from dark brown to straw yellow.
